Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez have reportedly gotten married in an intimate ceremony held inside their Lisbon home on August 11, marking exactly 10 years since the couple first met at a Gucci store in Madrid.
According to the account, Georgina was originally off duty on the day they met but had stepped in for a colleague. Recalling their first encounter, she described it as destiny.
“I had my back turned to her. The moment I turned around, our eyes locked, and that was it,” Ronaldo reportedly recalled, while Georgina added: “It felt like a dream.”
Georgina reportedly chose August 11 for their wedding because she wanted their 10th anniversary to remain a special date for the family.
Although she once dreamed of having a grand wedding in a castle, complete with a long wedding gown and a diamond crown, Georgina said her current lifestyle already reflects many of those childhood dreams. She therefore chose a simple and private ceremony surrounded only by people close to them.
No celebrities were reportedly invited to the wedding.
Following the ceremony in their living room, Ronaldo and Georgina travelled to the Shrine of Our Lady of Fátima, about an hour away, where a priest reportedly closed off a small sanctuary to bless the couple.
The couple reportedly had no time for a traditional honeymoon, as the family soon travelled to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, ahead of the new football season.
Ronaldo, who is approaching the later stages of his football career, reportedly said he wants to make his remaining time memorable for his children, noting that retirement could be approaching.
He said he hopes to spend more time with his family, travel and enjoy the fruits of the sacrifices he has made throughout his 25-year career.
The reported intimate celebration reflects the couple’s decision to prioritise family and personal memories over a lavish celebrity wedding.
