Veteran Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has reportedly passed away at the age of 66 after battling stage-four cancer.
The heartbreaking development was announced by his daughter, Kira Taiwo, during an Instagram Live session on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
Ogogo’s health condition had become a major concern in recent days after his daughters, Lima and Kira, publicly appealed for urgent medical assistance, revealing that their father was battling advanced cancer.
The family had sought help from medical professionals and hospitals capable of providing further treatment, while several colleagues and prominent Yoruba actors also gathered to pray for his recovery.
Ogogo was one of the respected veterans of the Yoruba film industry, with a career spanning more than four decades and appearances in hundreds of movies.
His reported death comes just days after his family and colleagues rallied around him amid his battle with the disease.
