The controversy surrounding the unreleased collaboration between Nigerian music stars Davido and Wande Coal has resurfaced, with both artistes appearing to trade subtle shots on social media.
The drama began after Davido recently explained why his version of Wande Coal’s “Come My Way” never officially dropped, despite the snippet gaining attention online.
Davido revealed that Wande Coal brought the song to him before its release and that he recorded a verse which later generated significant buzz. However, he said a disagreement emerged over the release arrangement.
According to Davido, he understood the recording to be a collaboration, while Wande Coal allegedly planned to release his original version first and use Davido’s contribution as a remix.
Davido said he rejected the arrangement because he did not record his verse with the intention of appearing on a remix. He added that the disagreement was ultimately why the collaboration was never released.
Wande Coal subsequently appeared to respond to Davido, writing on Instagram: “Ode, no respect. E pain you or e no pain you?”
He later took the matter to X, claiming that the song already had a release date and that it was never Davido’s song. Wande also suggested that Davido wanted to dictate the release plan, while maintaining that the song performed well without him.
Davido later posted a cryptic message referring to “Mr Little” and “small sardine.” Although he did not mention Wande Coal by name, fans quickly linked the post to the ongoing exchange.
The back-and-forth has sparked debate among fans, with some questioning why the disagreement over an unreleased collaboration has resurfaced years later.
While neither artiste has officially confirmed a personal feud, their recent social media activity has intensified speculation that the relationship between the two music stars may have become strained.
