The family of veteran Nollywood actor Babatunde Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has publicly expressed appreciation to Nigerians and fans across the world for the overwhelming support, prayers and goodwill extended to the actor during this period.
In a statement, the family said they were deeply grateful for the outpouring of love from individuals, organisations and communities who have continued to show concern and stand with Ogogo.
The family particularly appreciated churches, Muslim faithful, traditionalists, news organisations, bloggers and members of the entertainment industry for their prayers, messages, calls and other forms of support.
According to the family, the kindness and concern shown by Nigerians have not gone unnoticed, describing the support as a demonstration of the strong bond between Ogogo and his fans.
However, alongside the appreciation, the family issued an important warning to the public over possible attempts by fraudsters to exploit the situation.
The family clarified that Ogogo is not soliciting funds from anyone and urged members of the public not to send money to anyone claiming to be raising funds on behalf of the actor or his family.
“Please be cautious of anyone requesting or collecting money in his name. Such individuals are not authorized to do so,” the family warned.
The family therefore encouraged fans and well-wishers to disregard any unauthorised fundraising appeals connected to Ogogo and to remain vigilant against individuals who may attempt to take advantage of the actor’s situation.
The statement concluded with renewed appreciation to Nigerians and fans worldwide for their continued prayers, love and support.
