The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would lose the 2027 presidential election before 4pm if the election is conducted in a credible, free and fair manner.
Baba-Ahmed made the statement while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he assessed the political situation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He argued that despite the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) controlling the presidency, the National Assembly and a large number of state governments, the party remains vulnerable at the polls.
According to him, the recent Osun State governorship election demonstrated that the APC can be defeated when opposition parties effectively compete against it.
Baba-Ahmed described the APC as “a monster eating itself,” while questioning why President Tinubu would remain uneasy despite having what he described as enormous political influence.
He further argued that the President’s political strength does not necessarily translate into electoral support among Nigerians.
The PRP chairman said the outcome of the 2027 election would ultimately depend on whether Nigerians are given the opportunity to freely choose their preferred candidates without manipulation or interference.
His comments come amid growing political realignments and intense discussions among opposition parties ahead of the 2027 presidential contest.
