Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has explained why ailing actor Taiwo Babatunde Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, cannot currently be moved from the hospital to another location for alternative or spiritual treatment.
Kosoko made the clarification on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, following an overwhelming response to the family’s recent appeal for help concerning Ogogo’s health. He expressed gratitude to Nigerians, fans, colleagues and well-wishers who have continued to show concern and offer assistance.
According to Kosoko, the family and Ogogo’s team have received more than 300 and possibly over 500 offers from people who sincerely believe they have medical, spiritual or alternative solutions that could help the actor.
He, however, explained that the major challenge is how to move Ogogo from the hospital while he is still receiving medical care, especially when so many different people and locations have offered to assist.
Kosoko said the family’s inability to take Ogogo to everyone who has offered help should not be interpreted as a rejection or doubt of their intentions. He stressed that the family deeply appreciates the love and concern being shown to the actor.
The veteran actor also appealed to members of the public to continue praying for Ogogo, saying the family remains hopeful about his recovery and believes in the power of prayers and God’s mercy.
The development follows an earlier appeal by Ogogo’s daughters, Kira and Haleemah, who disclosed that their father had been diagnosed with stage-four cancer and appealed for urgent medical assistance. They said the family was seeking professionals and facilities that could explore available treatment options.
Kosoko’s latest statement is therefore aimed at clarifying why the numerous offers of assistance have not translated into moving Ogogo from his current hospital to different treatment centres or spiritual facilities.
He urged Nigerians to continue supporting the actor with prayers while the family and medical team manage his ongoing care.
