‘Fake Agency’ Boss Fights Back With Appointment Letter

The National Coordinator and Executive Director of the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, George Nwabueze, has strongly rejected allegations that he is running a “fake agency” in Nigeria.

Nwabueze, in his response to the controversy, reportedly produced an appointment letter to support his claim that his position and the office are legitimate.

He explained that the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office is not a newly created organisation, insisting that it has existed for about 16 years.

According to him, the office has continued to operate with the aim of promoting Nigerian brands, supporting locally made products and advancing the Made-in-Nigeria agenda.

The controversy reportedly followed questions raised over the identity, legal status and activities of the organisation, with critics questioning whether it is a recognised government agency.

However, Nwabueze maintained that the allegations are unfounded and that the appointment letter and history of the office provide evidence against the claim that the organisation is fake.

He has therefore challenged those questioning the legitimacy of the office to verify its records and history before reaching conclusions.

The controversy has continued to generate reactions as Nigerians seek further clarification on the agency’s establishment, mandate and relationship with the Federal Government.
