Popular Nigerian dancer and socialite, Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, is reportedly being held on remand in the United Kingdom over an alleged assault offence.
Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as the Oluomo of Derby and founder of the Community of Nigerians in the UK, confirmed that Poco Lee is expected to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court in London on September 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
According to Kuti, the hearing is expected to be a plea hearing, where the accused would ordinarily indicate whether he intends to plead guilty or not guilty.
Kuti also said he plans to attend the proceedings to support Poco Lee and urged the public to allow the legal process to take its course, stressing that Poco Lee remains innocent unless proven guilty by a court.
Reports of Poco Lee’s alleged detention in the UK first surfaced on August 19, but details surrounding the alleged incident remain limited. Earlier reports did not clearly identify the complainant or provide full details of the allegation.
Poco Lee has not publicly commented on the latest development.
