Afrobeats superstar Davido has maintained that he will not apologise to Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo over his decision to share what he described as the governor’s WAEC results online.
Davido said his intention was to put the information before the people of Edo State so they could independently assess the person governing the state.
“I am not going to apologise to Monday Okpebholo. I posted his WAEC results for the people of Edo State to see who is governing them,” the singer said.
The singer also expressed sympathy for the governor’s children, saying, “I feel so bad for his kids”.

The controversy has generated significant reactions online, with supporters and critics debating the decision to make the alleged academic records public.
The issue has also added to the wider political conversation surrounding public officials, their qualifications and the level of scrutiny they should face from citizens.
Davido’s latest comments indicate that he stands by his decision and does not intend to withdraw the post or apologise to the governor.
