Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has threatened legal action against Nigerian singer Seyi Vibez over comments he made about her food on social media.
Seyi Vibez had taken to X during his ongoing dispute with Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper, accusing the music executive of contract breaches and financial impropriety.
In the process, the singer dragged Hilda Baci into the controversy, alleging that he once ate food prepared by the chef and that it “almost killed” him. He also made other remarks about Hilda and her relationship with Dapper.
Hilda Baci’s lawyers, Olaniwun Ajayi LP, subsequently issued a formal demand letter accusing Seyi Vibez of publishing defamatory, malicious and false statements about their client.
According to the letter, the posts had reportedly generated about 4.3 million views, 7,100 reposts, 3,000 comments and 45,000 likes, while also triggering what the lawyers described as persistent online harassment against the chef.
Hilda’s legal team demanded that Seyi Vibez permanently remove the posts, issue a public apology and retraction, and ask his followers to stop further harassment.
The lawyers reportedly gave the singer three days to comply, warning that legal action would follow if he failed to meet the demands. Reports also indicate that Seyi Vibez subsequently deleted the controversial posts.
The controversy began as part of a wider dispute between Seyi Vibez and Dapper, but has now escalated into a potential legal battle involving one of Nigeria’s most prominent celebrity chefs.
