Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday visited the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja, shortly after meeting President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.
The visit came as part of Adeleke’s engagements in Abuja following his victory in the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election, in which he secured a second term.
A photograph shared by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, showed Adeleke and the FCT Minister shaking hands while holding the governor’s Certificate of Return.
Adeleke had earlier met with Tinubu at the State House, where he presented his Certificate of Return and expressed appreciation to the President over the conduct of the election.
The meeting with Wike also attracted attention because Afrobeats star Davido, Adeleke’s nephew, was present. Davido reportedly jokingly told Wike, “I beat you guys,” in reference to the Osun election outcome, before later prostrating and embracing the minister.
Adeleke won the election with 511,067 votes, defeating APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.
